The Folkestone Book Festival is a packed nine days of literary events. The festival includes talks by well-known novelists, celebrities and historians, walking tours exploring Folkestone’s literary history and events for families and children. The Folkestone Book Festival has a strong history theme running through the programme, heralded at the end of the festival when the winner of the Folkestone History Award is announced. Quarterhouse is the central venue for Folkestone Book Festival events, complemented by satellite venues at other locations throughout the coastal town of Folkestone in Kent.

Folkestone Book Festival closing event

Jeremy Hardy is best known for his work on Radio 4, notably on News Quiz, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue and Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation. His book My Family and Other Strangers, chronicles his desperate search for interesting ancestors. “A comic genius’ Sandi Toksvig.

Other highlights include John Julius Norwich, Fitzrovia Radio Hour, Arthur Smith – An Evening with Daphne Fairfax, and June Spencer (Peggy from The Archers).
