STORY SACKS LAUNCH
Award winning author and illustrator Paul Geraghty will be coming to run some inspirational sessions encouraging parents and children to write, draw and think creatively together. These workshops will introduce the idea of making your own story sack to bring books to life in a fun and interactive way.

WHAT ON EARTH EVOLVED? & WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED?
The Folkestone Book Festival is proud to present historian and award-winning journalist Christopher Lloyd in a very special show for local primary schools. Following the history theme of this year’s festival, Christopher will bring the story of the earth and its species to life in an informative and lively event for pupils.

Bigfoot Theatre East Kent has teamed up with Shepway Find Your Talent to provide three literary workshops with a difference for secondary school pupils. From rapping Shakespeare to James Bond, this day has been designed to encourage a different take on literature.

KATHERINE MAY
BURNING OUT
Set partly in Dungeness, Katherine May’s book Burning Out tells the story of Violet, a woman who discovers that she has a double who is living her life all over again. Working with local young people Katherine has produced a theatrical production of her novel to be performed to Shepway’s school pupils and the public.

THE STORY BOX PERFORMANCE
From October onwards, hidden in four locations around the Creative Quarter will be special boxes containing various items which you can exchange for an item of your own after logging your visit. Wide Eyed Theatre Company will then take these objects and the stories of those who used the boxes and transform them into a special one-off play to be performed at the festival.
