VERNACULAR SPECTACULAR
Club Shepway introduce their latest publication Vernacular Spectacular, documenting the Leas Lift through its last season before closure.
For the duration of the summer months, from June to September 2008, Club Shepway was given use of Folkestone's historic funicular lift.
Club Shepway transformed the lift into a temporary exhibition space, inviting artists to develop work in response to the physical confines of the lift carriages and the unique position of the town mid regeneration process.

H.G WELLS: WRITER AND SOCIAL COMMENTATOR
In support of the Folkestone Book Festival Neville Pundole has curated an exhibition of specially commissioned pieces by eight artists, inspired by the works of H.G.Wells. The exhibition in his gallery at 39 Tontine Street is comprised of works in Pottery, Glass, Bronze and Paint, all drawing their influence from not only Wells' more famous works such as "The War of the Worlds" and "The Time Machine", but also "The Sea Lady... a Tissue of Moonshine" which Wells wrote whilst living in Folkestone. All works are available for purchase.
